Insurance information

Insurance information
All rental cars must have Damage Insurance (CDW) and Theft Insurance (TP). Each policy:

· or shall be included or

· will be purchased from the car rental company or

· will be provided by another company (eg your credit card company).

Damage Insurance (CDW)

If your car’s bodywork is damaged, the maximum amount you will pay for repairs covered by CDW will be the damage liability amount. This coverage applies as long as you comply with the terms of the rental agreement. It does not cover other parts of the car (e.g. windows, wheels, interior parts, underbody) or charges (e.g. for towing or for the duration of the car’s inactivity) or for anything else inside the car (e.g. e.g. child seats, GPS devices or personal belongings).

Theft Coverage

If the car is stolen, the maximum amount you will pay for replacement costs covered by the insurance will be the theft liability amount. This coverage applies as long as you comply with the terms of the rental agreement.

Third Party Liability (TPL)

It covers the driver’s liability for any injuries and property damage included in the insurance. It does not cover injuries to the driver or damage to the rental car. This coverage is only valid if you comply with the terms of the rental agreement.

Loss or damage

If the car is stolen, or seriously damaged, or damaged in an accident involving someone else, please contact the rental company and the police immediately. If you cannot provide the necessary documents from the police, you will be responsible for the total cost of replacing/repairing the car. If the car is slightly damaged and no one else is involved, please contact the rental company immediately.

The car rental company is not responsible for loss / theft / damage to any item of the car, during or after the rental.

Damage to the car will be charged by the car hire company after the car is returned – and will incur a Damage Administration fee in addition to the amount deducted from the liability amount.

The coverage (CDW & TP) of the rental car does not include
Loss / theft / damage to: keys, aerials, jack, triangles and safety vests, wipers, fuel cap, luggage covers or any other fixed or movable part of the car.

Roadside assistance

When you pick up your car, be sure to find out where the documents are kept. In most cases, they will be either in the glove box or in the sun visor .

If you change the duration of the rental, the number of free kilometers may also change. In addition, the cost for each extra kilometer may change.

Acceptable forms of payment at the company cashier

Credit Cards Accepted

The driver must have a Credit Card in their name to pick up the vehicle. The card must have the necessary funds for the guarantee (which will be held by the credit card for the duration of the rental). The card will also be needed to charge local fees, extra equipment or anything extra you add to your rental locally.

Payment card rules

If you pay by credit card, your bank may charge you an international transaction fee.

Payment cards used at the rental desk must be in the name of the primary driver (the person listed on the reservation).

Credit cards must be enabled for international transactions and payments abroad.

You will need to know the PIN of the payment card you intend to use to pre-authorize your advance.

Payment cards

Payment cards accepted

The counter staff can only accept the following credit cards for the guarantee:
(you will need to bring the card in physical form with you. Prepaid, reloadable or virtual cards are not accepted).

· MasterCard

· Visa

· American Express

Diploma Requirements

When you collect your vehicle, the main driver and any additional drivers must have a driving license in their name with them.

If you have renewed your driver’s license and only the renewal date is displayed, you will need to provide proof of the original issue date.

All drivers must hold a driving license for at least 1 year.

It is the responsibility of every driver to find out what papers they need before driving in another country. For example, you may need a visa and/or an International Driving Permit in addition to your driving licence.

All drivers must carry a valid driver’s license. If it is written in a non-Latin alphabet, they must also provide a valid International Driving Permit or a certified translation. It is recommended that drivers with a driving license issued outside of Europe also carry an International Driving Permit.

Identification Forms

At the counter they will ask you:

Each driver’s full, valid driver’s license

The rental voucher

Additional documents

· Credit card in the name of the primary driver

· Identity card of each driver

· Passport of each driver

Voucher / Electronic Voucher

At pick-up, the car rental company will require EITHER a printed copy of the customer’s voucher or an eVoucher . If this is not shown , the car rental company may not allow the customer to pick up the car, or may charge the customer again for the rental.

When you reserved your car, you reserved a specific make and model “or similar” (“similar” means same transmission, similar size, similar engine, etc.). The counter staff may provide a different car – not the exact make and model you expected.

Age requirements

You must be at least 21 to drive this car.

Arrival Details

In case of arrival by plane, the car rental company will need your arrival flight number at least 3 days before the scheduled start of your rental. If you do not send your flight number, the car rental company cannot be held responsible if your flight is delayed and as a result your car is not available. Make sure you enter your flight number and not any other number the airline may have sent you, such as the confirmation number.

If your flight is delayed, please call the rental office during business hours.

Coverage information

When collecting the car, please make sure you read the terms and conditions before signing the rental agreement, including terms for additional products you may have purchased over the counter. It’s important to understand the agreement/policy’s exclusions and limitations and the rules about anything you pay at the rental counter.

Warranty / Release

The car has a damage liability amount of €685.00 including tax.

The rental company will ask you for the amount of €685.00 as a deposit when you pick up your car. The deposit will be returned after the rental if all conditions have been met.

The car has a theft liability amount of €685.00 including tax.

When you pick up your car, the staff at the counter will ask for a warranty on the car. They may also require a guarantee for the fuel in the tank and for some extras (eg a child seat or GPS). After the rental is completed, the deposit will be returned to you

Due to exchange rate fluctuations and other possible bank charges, the car rental company cannot be held responsible for any difference between the amount paid and the amount refunded.

Damage Insurance (CDW) and Theft Insurance are waived. The deductible is the amount you will need to pay before the policy covers the remaining cost (for anything the policy covers).

Additional Coverage

At the rental car counter you may decide to purchase additional coverage to reduce or remove your deductible or to cover what CDW does not cover, such as tires and windshields.
Please note: If you do this, the contract will be between you and the car hire company – so you will need to contact them if you are unhappy with the policy or the cover they provide.

If you are involved in a ‘single vehicle accident’ and/or the bodywork is heavily damaged, the deductible amount will be higher.

Coverage of Arrangements

Please make sure you read the terms and conditions of the coverage you receive when you sign the rental agreement upon pickup to learn about the exclusions and limits of this policy.
These Policies usually exclude things like windscreens, glass, rims, tyres, undercarriage, interior, personal belongings, towing charges & off-road damage – as well as any ‘extra equipment’ hired by the car hire company, such as children’s seats and GPS devices. Note that your coverage will be voided for negligence, misfueling or breaking the terms of the rental agreement (for example, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs).

Management Fees

Damage to the car will be charged by the car hire company after the car is returned – and will incur a Damage Administration fee in addition to the amount deducted from the liability amount.

An Immobilization Fee is payable and mandatory in the event of an accident. This is in addition to the amount deducted from the liability amount and is mandatory. This charge is calculated according to the category of the car and the number of repair days.

If the car is damaged or stolen, the rental company will charge you an administration fee. If you pay for damage/theft by credit card, you will be charged an additional handling fee.

When the rental is complete, customers must return to the station to get their deposit back. The deposit must be returned to the same card used for collection.

Same fuel in pickup-delivery

When you pick up the car, the vehicle’s tank will either be full or have some fuel. You will leave a deposit to cover the cost of fuel: the staff at the counter will charge this amount to your credit card. Just before returning the car, please fill in the fuel used.

Pay locally for extra equipment

As mentioned in the booking process, any extra equipment (child seats, GPS, etc.) either:

· will be included in the rental price either

· you will need to order and pay for it when booking the car

· or you will need to request it when booking your car and pay on collection (in which case we cannot guarantee that it will be available or that the price will be the same).

Extra Equipment Requirements

Additional equipment is subject to sales tax and local taxes.

If any of the extra equipment is lost, damaged or stolen, you will pay a replacement fee.

If the car is picked up from one location and delivered to another, the rental company may charge a car return fee to a different location to cover the cost of returning the extra equipment to the original location.

Please note: counter staff are not trained (or allowed) to fit baby/child/booster seats. You will need to install them yourself.

Additional guides

All car rental company age related charges and restrictions will apply to all additional drivers.

Important information

By making this reservation, you confirm that you have read and accept the rental terms.

At the rental point customers will also sign a rental agreement before picking up the key. It is important that you read the agreement carefully. In case anything is unclear, discuss it with the staff at the counter before signing.

The rental company reserves the right to refuse a car if, in the opinion of the staff at the counter, the driver is not fit to drive or any person in the group is violent, threatening or in any way endangers the health and safety of others persons. In such event, you will not be entitled to any refund or compensation.

See the section “What you need to collect the vehicle” above and note that the staff at the counter will not provide a car if all the requirements (age, driver’s license, payment card, documents, etc.) are not met. In such event, you will not be entitled to any refund or compensation.

Before you leave, you must check the car and make sure that you report any damages to the staff at the counter and that they are noted on the rental agreement. Otherwise, you may be held liable for this damage.

Road rules

When you rent a car, you agree to use it responsibly. Should not:

· drive under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any other type of narcotic substance

· carry flammable or dangerous goods or any toxic, corrosive, radioactive or otherwise harmful substances

· carry anything which, due to its smell and/or condition, could damage the car or cause the rental company to lose time or money

· to transport animals

· fit a roof rack, luggage rack or anything similar, unless provided by the rental company

· rent the car to anyone else

· carry passengers for a fee (as a taxi)

· participate in rallies, races or tests

· to deliver driving lessons

· to another vehicle

· drive on unpaved roads or roads whose surface or condition could cause damage to the car

· violate in any way the traffic code or other laws.

· Seat belt – No matter which country you drive in, the driver and passengers must wear seat belts if fitted, wherever they sit in the car.

You should know that all cars have a no-smoking policy. Penalties will be imposed if this policy is not followed.

To make sure you understand the rules and laws for driving a rental car domestically and internationally, it’s important to read the full Terms & Conditions before you go to collect your car.

In particular, please make sure you know what documents and other forms you need to take with you (eg driver’s license, identification documents passport – identity card, payment card) and what you will need to pay at the cash desk of the car rental company. If you don’t have everything they need, the car rental company may not let you take the car.

If you plan to drive in a city, there may be traffic restrictions based on your car’s number plate, so let the staff at the counter know when you pick up your car.

On the road

Accident or Breakdown – In the event of a breakdown, accident or mechanical problem, you should call the car rental company immediately. They will have to approve you to repair or replace the car. Please keep copies of all documents you will be asked to complete. These may… be necessary if you want to claim money. For accidents, a police report and an incident report will be required to hand over to the car rental company’s counter.

If you have problems with the rental car, call the rental company.

Car Rental Company Important Information

If, upon collection, you choose to take a different car, there may be an additional charge – even if the new car is smaller than the one you booked.

An Immobilization Fee is payable and mandatory in the event of an accident. This is in addition to the amount deducted from the liability amount and is mandatory. This charge is calculated according to the category of the car and the number of repair days.

Lost Keys – If you lose your key(s), you will be charged the cost of a replacement.

If you have not returned the car after the agreed delivery time, the insurance will no longer apply. In addition, you will be charged a fine as well as the cost of renting an additional day.
